CarAnalytics Alternative

Carpeep gives you outstanding finance, write-off markers, stolen markers, mileage and keeper history in one £15 report, with no tiers and nothing to upgrade.

Works with:

Included in your report:

  • Outstanding finance
  • Write-off markers
  • Police stolen check
  • Mileage from every MOT
  • Keeper history
  • Plate and colour changes

What each one actually sells.

CarAnalytics has been running UK vehicle checks since 2016 and sells three consumer options. A free check that shows MOT, tax, mileage and specification. A Basic Check at £2.99 covering ownership, mileage, tax, MOT and specs. A Full Check at £10.99 that adds outstanding finance, police stolen data, insurance write-off records, a valuation and a £10,000 data guarantee.

That £10.99 buys one vehicle. Three reports work out at £6.66 each and five work out at £4.99 each. Service history and market data sit outside the Full Check as optional extras. OEM Service History is £8.99, while Retail Market Intel, Previously Seen Adverts and Previous Searches are £2.99 each. All four together cost £12.96.

Carpeep is built the other way round. One report, £15, and every field Carpeep holds is in it. Finance, write-off categories, stolen markers, mileage from every MOT with discrepancy analysis, keeper history, plate transfers, colour changes, import and export markers and identity checks. No cheaper tier holds data back and there is nothing to add at the results screen.

What CarAnalytics offers.

Three consumer options, a set of paid add-ons and separate trade packs.

A free check before you pay

The free car check returns MOT status and history, tax status, mileage records, CO2 figures, fuel economy, safety recall alerts, a ULEZ result and the export marker. Finance, stolen and write-off data are held back for the paid report.

Basic at £2.99, Full at £10.99

The Basic Check is described as 80+ data points covering ownership, mileage, tax, MOT, valuation and specification. The Full Check is described as 200+ data points and adds finance from Experian, police stolen data, write-off category, salvage records and taxi history.

Valuation and market insight

The Full Check includes a five band valuation covering trade, private, part-exchange, forecourt and auction. Retail Market Intel, Previously Seen Adverts and Previous Searches are sold separately at £2.99 each, or £12.96 for all four add-ons together.

Dealer service history

OEM Service History is a £8.99 add-on that pulls records from manufacturer and authorised dealer systems, showing service dates, mileage at service and work carried out where data exists. CarAnalytics states the add-on is refundable if no records are found.

The price comparison.

The headline number matters less than what sits behind it.

Run a Carpeep check

Check a car for £15.

Enter the registration and see finance, write-off, stolen, mileage and keeper history in one report.

  • Instant results
  • All checks included
  • £30,000 data guarantee

Why buyers pick Carpeep instead.

One price, the full dataset, and a larger guarantee standing behind it.

One price, no tiers

£15 buys the whole Carpeep report. There is no basic version, no premium version and no add-on waiting at the results screen. What you see on the sales page is what lands in the report.

A £30,000 guarantee

Carpeep backs its finance, stolen and write-off data with a £30,000 guarantee. CarAnalytics states £10,000 on the Full Check, and its own trade pages state that the guarantee does not apply to trade packs.

Mileage read from every MOT

Carpeep pulls the reading from every recorded MOT, lists the full test history with advisories, and flags where a reading drops or jumps. Clocking usually shows up in the gaps between tests rather than in a single number.

No account to create

Enter a reg, pay, read the report. Carpeep asks for no sign-up, no password and no marketing opt-out. The report opens in the browser and the link is emailed to you so you can reopen it later.

Where CarAnalytics is the better choice.

On price for a single full report, CarAnalytics is cheaper at £10.99 against £15. It also has a genuinely useful free tier, which Carpeep does not, so you can rule out a bad advert before spending anything. If you are comparing a shortlist, the bundles beat Carpeep outright at £6.66 and £4.99 per report, and traders can buy 100 checks at £2.70 each plus VAT.

It also carries data Carpeep simply does not hold. A five band valuation, OEM service history, taxi and private hire usage, safety recalls, fuel economy figures and a ULEZ result all come from CarAnalytics and are outside what Carpeep covers. If a valuation or a dealer service record is the reason you are running the check, buy the CarAnalytics Full Check and the relevant add-on.

Running a Carpeep check.

1

Enter the registration

Type the reg from the advert or the plate. Carpeep matches it against DVLA and DVSA records and shows you the make, model, colour and year it holds.

2

Confirm it is the right car

Check the returned make, model, colour and year against the listing. A mismatch here is worth asking about before you go any further.

3

Pay £15

One payment, one full report. No account, no tiers and no upgrade prompt once the results load. Card and digital wallet payments are both accepted.

4

Read the report

Finance, write-off, stolen, mileage, MOT history, keepers, plate and colour changes and identity data all appear on one page. The link is emailed so you can open it again at the viewing.

Where our data comes from.

Always from official records. We do not create, edit or estimate any data.

DVLA

Registration, keeper history, import and export status and recorded vehicle details.

DVSA

Full MOT test history including results, advisories and mileage at each test.

Insurance industry records

Recorded write-off markers such as Cat A, B, S and N from insurance industry records.

UK finance lenders

Outstanding finance agreements including HP, PCP and conditional sale records.

Police stolen vehicle records

Stolen vehicle markers from UK police records, checked against the registration and VIN.

Vehicle identity checks

VIN and registration cross-referenced to flag plate changes, cloning or identity mismatches.

CarAnalytics alternative FAQs

Is Carpeep cheaper than CarAnalytics?

No, not for a single report. The CarAnalytics Full Check is £10.99 against £15 for Carpeep, and its bundles bring the cost per report down to £6.66 or £4.99. Carpeep charges one flat £15 for the complete dataset with no add-ons, and backs it with a £30,000 guarantee rather than £10,000.

What does CarAnalytics have that Carpeep does not?

A free tier, a five band vehicle valuation, OEM service history as an £8.99 add-on, taxi and private hire usage, safety recall alerts, fuel economy figures, a ULEZ result and retail market data. Carpeep holds none of those. It covers finance, write-off, stolen, mileage, MOT, keeper and identity data only.

What does Carpeep show that a free CarAnalytics check does not?

The free check stops short of the risk data. Outstanding finance, insurance write-off category, police stolen markers, salvage records and scrapped markers all sit behind the paid Full Check. Carpeep includes all of those in its single £15 report, along with keeper history, plate transfers, colour changes and import and export markers.

How do the two data guarantees compare?

CarAnalytics states a £10,000 data guarantee on every Full Check, with claims requiring proof of financial loss under its terms. Carpeep guarantees £30,000. CarAnalytics also states plainly that the guarantee is not included on its trade packs, so a dealer buying credits is not covered by it.

I need to check three or four cars. Which is better value?

CarAnalytics, on cost. Its 3 check bundle works out at £6.66 per report and its 5 check bundle at £4.99, so a shortlist of four costs far less there than four separate Carpeep reports at £15 each. Carpeep has no bundle. Every check is the same flat price.

Do I have to create an account with either?

Carpeep requires no account. You enter a reg, pay and read the report, and a link is emailed to you. CarAnalytics has a sign in area in its site header for returning customers and for trade credit balances, where voucher codes are redeemed against a purchased pack of checks.

Is CarAnalytics a legitimate company?

Yes. It is a registered UK trademark, registered with the ICO under number ZB670333, and has been trading since 2016. It publishes a refund policy, lists customer reviews across several platforms and offers support seven days a week. This page is a comparison of what each service includes, not a warning about either.

Which should I buy for a private used car purchase?

If you want a valuation, service records or a free first look, use CarAnalytics. If you want every risk field in one report at one price with the larger guarantee and no upgrade prompts, use Carpeep. Plenty of buyers spending several thousand pounds run both, which still costs less than £30.
