Safety recalls
Attention
Safety recalls may affect this vehicle.
-
1 Recall R/2016/292 Steering rack may fracture
Defect: Due to a manufacturing process deviation the toothed rack of the steering gear might break under extensive force application i.e. when manoeuvring at slow speed.
Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and check the build date of the steering rack. Where the steering rack is proved to be from the affected batch the steering rack will be replaced.
-
2 Recall R/2017/021 Short circuit may occur
Defect: There is the possibility of water penetration into the vent hose resulting in water ingress into the vacuum pump over the wire harness and into the relay box. In the worst case a short circuit may lead to a risk of fire.
Remedy: On affected vehicles add a spray deflector to avoid water ingress into the vent hose replace the electronic vacuum pump/relay box assembly and apply special grease to the electrical terminals.
-
3 Recall R/2016/087 Risk of fire
Defect: Water ingress to the relay on the electrical vacuum pump may cause a short. In extreme instances this may lead to fire.
Remedy: On affected vehicles replace Vacuum Pump/Relay Assembly and apply special grease to electrical connectors
-
4 Recall R/2015/234 Loss of stability
Defect: The connection between the steering knuckle and the lower control arm may not be assembled correctly. If this condition is evident the connection could become insecure. The event can happen suddenly and unexpectedly in which case the vehicle is no longer controllable.
Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and inspect the connection between the steering knuckle and the lower control arm on both sides of the vehicle. Where necessary the connection will be reassembled correctly.

-
5 Recall R/2015/032 Loss of steering control
Defect: A small number of steering knuckles on hub swivels have been manufactured incorrectly. In time these knuckles might fail with the attendant loss of directional control of the vehicle.
Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and check the production date code on steering knuckles fitted to both sides. Replace the steering knuckles where required.
-
6 Recall R/2014/123 Loss of steering control
Defect: THE MANUFACTURER HAS RECOMMENDED THAT AFFECTED VEHICLES ARE NOT DRIVEN UNTIL CHECKED BY THEIR OFFICIAL AGENTS. The steering system may not have been produced according to specification. There is a risk that the steering intermediate shaft may break while driving resulting in the loss of steering control.
Remedy: The affected vehicles must not be driven until a new intermediate shaft that does meet the manufacturer's specification has been fitted.
What should I do?
Contact the manufacturer or an authorised dealer to confirm whether these recalls affect this car and whether any work is required.
Accident history
Full History ReportInsurers record a car as a write-off (Category A, B, S or N) when it’s too damaged or too costly to repair. A repaired write-off can be sold again, but it’s worth less.

Frequently asked questions
What’s the difference between a Basic Car Report and a Full History Report?
This Basic Car Report is free and built from public DVLA and DVSA records for DX64 ZXB: its MOT history, the mileage recorded at each MOT, tax and SORN status, ULEZ status and safety recalls where available. The Full History Report adds the checks those public records can’t show: outstanding finance, insurance write-offs, police stolen records, previous owners, plate changes and mileage records from beyond the MOT.
How can I check if a car has outstanding finance or has been stolen?
Neither is in the Basic Car Report, because public DVLA and DVSA records don’t include finance agreements or police stolen reports; they come from separate finance and police data. The Full History Report checks both for DX64 ZXB, along with write-offs and previous owners, before you hand over any money.
What should I check before buying a used car?
Start with the public checks in this report: the MOT history for repeat failures and advisories, mileage readings that rise steadily, tax and SORN status, and any outstanding safety recalls. Then check what public records don’t show: outstanding finance, insurance write-offs, stolen records and ownership history. Finally, see the car in person and make sure the V5C logbook and VIN match the car and the seller.
What should I check before buying a used Vauxhall?
Vauxhalls fail their MOT most often on lamps, reflectors and electrical equipment: 24% of their failures, against 25% for all cars. Suspension accounts for more of their failures than average, 22% against 20%. In this car’s MOT history above, look for failures and advisories in those areas and ask whether they were fixed.
Are Vauxhalls reliable used cars?
MOT results are a useful public guide. In 2025, Vauxhalls passed 65.8% of their initial MOT tests, 6.5 points below the 72.3% average for all cars and 55th of 63 makes. Older ones pass less often, 82.3% at 3 to 5 years old against 57.2% at 11 years and over, so how this car has been looked after matters most: its MOT history above is the best evidence. Compare every Vauxhall model’s MOT record.
