Safety recalls

Attention

Safety recalls may affect this vehicle.

  1. 1 Recall R/2021/063 The brake pedal may potentially stick as a result of high vehicle interior temperatures

Defect: The brake pedal may potentially stick as a result of high vehicle interior temperatures causing the brake lights to activate without brake pedal pressure.

Remedy: To reprogram the electronic brake control module (EBCM) to enable a warning message to display.

  2. 2 Recall R/2017/027 Front seat side airbag may deploy incorrectly

Defect: A front seat side air bag may not deploy as intended

Remedy: On affected vehicles replace the airbag module assembly

  3. 3 Recall R/2016/140 Risk of fire

Defect: Water may penetrate into the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) connector. In the worst case water can enter the EBCM where a short circuit may lead to a risk of fire. Warning before the fire element could occur is: flashing warning lamp which will give sufficient warning for the vehicle to be parked safely or if nearby taken to the dealership for repair.

Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and check if the water cowl fastening clip correctly seals the water channel and that proper sealing of the EBCM connector is ensured. If necessary the EBCM and/or the hydraulic modulator will be replaced.

Insurers record a car as a write-off (Category A, B, S or N) when it’s too damaged or too costly to repair. A repaired write-off can be sold again, but it’s worth less.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between a Basic Car Report and a Full History Report?

This Basic Car Report is free and built from public DVLA and DVSA records for LR66 OCA: its MOT history, the mileage recorded at each MOT, tax and SORN status, ULEZ status and safety recalls where available. The Full History Report adds the checks those public records can’t show: outstanding finance, insurance write-offs, police stolen records, previous owners, plate changes and mileage records from beyond the MOT.

How can I check if a car has outstanding finance or has been stolen?

Neither is in the Basic Car Report, because public DVLA and DVSA records don’t include finance agreements or police stolen reports; they come from separate finance and police data. The Full History Report checks both for LR66 OCA, along with write-offs and previous owners, before you hand over any money.

What should I check before buying a used car?

Start with the public checks in this report: the MOT history for repeat failures and advisories, mileage readings that rise steadily, tax and SORN status, and any outstanding safety recalls. Then check what public records don’t show: outstanding finance, insurance write-offs, stolen records and ownership history. Finally, see the car in person and make sure the V5C logbook and VIN match the car and the seller.

What should I check before buying a used Vauxhall?

Vauxhalls fail their MOT most often on lamps, reflectors and electrical equipment: 24% of their failures, against 25% for all cars. Suspension accounts for more of their failures than average, 22% against 20%. In this car’s MOT history above, look for failures and advisories in those areas and ask whether they were fixed.

Are Vauxhalls reliable used cars?

MOT results are a useful public guide. In 2025, Vauxhalls passed 65.8% of their initial MOT tests, 6.5 points below the 72.3% average for all cars and 55th of 63 makes. Older ones pass less often, 82.3% at 3 to 5 years old against 57.2% at 11 years and over, so how this car has been looked after matters most: its MOT history above is the best evidence. Compare every Vauxhall model’s MOT record.
