Safety recalls

Attention

Safety recalls may affect this vehicle.

  1. 1 Recall R/2019/245 Possible air bag inflator rupture

Defect: Driver air bag may not deploy correctly.

Remedy: The inflator inside the drivers airbag module is to be replaced.

  2. 2 Recall R/2019/243 Possible air bag inflator rupture

Defect: Passenger air bag may not deploy correctly.

Remedy: The inflator inside the passenger's airbag module is to be replaced.

  3. 3 Recall R/2019/125 Inner pressure of the inflator may irregularly rise upon airbag deployment rupturing the inflator container

Defect: Driver air bag may not ignite correctly.

Remedy: Replace the drivers air bag assembly.

  4. 4 Recall R/2016/127 Passenger side airbag may fail to deploy correctly

Defect: In the event that the airbag is activated excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator body to rupture and metal fragments may pass through the cushion material causing injury to the vehicle occupants and / or in worst cases a fatality.

Remedy: On affected vehicles replace the passenger front air bag module.

Show 3 more recalls
  1. 5 Recall R/2016/045 Drivers airbag inflator may rupture if deployed

Defect: Abnormal deployment pressure may lead to rupture of the driver's air bag inflator case. In the event of an inflator rupture metal fragments could be propelled into the passenger compartment.

Remedy: On affected vehicles replace the inflator inside the driver's air bag module.

  2. 6 Recall R/2015/104 Passenger side airbag may fail to deploy correctly

Defect: Abnormal deployment pressure may lead to rupture of the inflator case. In the event of an inflator rupture metal fragments could be propelled upward toward the windshield or downward toward the front passenger's foot well potentially causing injury to a vehicle occupant.

Remedy: On affected vehicles replace the inflator inside the front passenger's airbag module with a new one.

  3. 7 Recall R/2011/021 Engine may stall

Defect: It is possible that a diode within the DC converter of the Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system became damaged during initial testing. Over time the diode could deteriorate and eventually fail causing a short circuit within the IMA system which results in the 100amp fuse blowing. A melted fuse will result in the engine stalling and the engine cannot be restarted. There will not be any noticeable symptoms prior to the engine stalling.

Remedy: The dealer will replace the DC converter with a new one.

What should I do?

Insurers record a car as a write-off (Category A, B, S or N) when it’s too damaged or too costly to repair. A repaired write-off can be sold again, but it’s worth less.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between a Basic Car Report and a Full History Report?

This Basic Car Report is free and built from public DVLA and DVSA records for SM06 ZSO: its MOT history, the mileage recorded at each MOT, tax and SORN status, ULEZ status and safety recalls where available. The Full History Report adds the checks those public records can’t show: outstanding finance, insurance write-offs, police stolen records, previous owners, plate changes and mileage records from beyond the MOT.

How can I check if a car has outstanding finance or has been stolen?

Neither is in the Basic Car Report, because public DVLA and DVSA records don’t include finance agreements or police stolen reports; they come from separate finance and police data. The Full History Report checks both for SM06 ZSO, along with write-offs and previous owners, before you hand over any money.

What should I check before buying a used car?

Start with the public checks in this report: the MOT history for repeat failures and advisories, mileage readings that rise steadily, tax and SORN status, and any outstanding safety recalls. Then check what public records don’t show: outstanding finance, insurance write-offs, stolen records and ownership history. Finally, see the car in person and make sure the V5C logbook and VIN match the car and the seller.

What should I check before buying a used Honda?

Hondas fail their MOT most often on lamps, reflectors and electrical equipment: 31% of their failures, against 25% for all cars. In this car’s MOT history above, look for failures and advisories in that area and ask whether they were fixed.

Are Hondas reliable used cars?

MOT results are a useful public guide. In 2025, Hondas passed 72.5% of their initial MOT tests, in line with the 72.3% average for all cars and 37th of 63 makes. Older ones pass less often, 90.7% at 3 to 5 years old against 63.1% at 11 years and over, so how this car has been looked after matters most: its MOT history above is the best evidence. Compare every Honda model’s MOT record.
