Infiniti stopped selling cars in western Europe in 2020 and closed its UK dealer network, which was small to begin with. The Q30 and QX30 hatchbacks, built at Sunderland on Mercedes A-Class underpinnings, make up most of what is left, along with the Q50 saloon. Every one of them is now serviced outside a franchised network.
That withdrawal hit values hard. Cars that were priced against German rivals when new now sell for far less, and a brand nobody recognises is difficult to move on, so Infinitis travel through the trade quickly. Fast, cheap sales are exactly the conditions in which unsettled finance and unmentioned damage get past a buyer.

The Q30 hatchback and its raised QX30 sibling were the volume cars here, sold with Mercedes-sourced 1.5 and 2.2 diesels and 1.6 or 2.0 petrol engines. They are the ones you will find in the classifieds, usually with one or two keepers and a service record that stopped when the dealers closed.
The Q50 came as a 2.2 diesel or a hybrid and went mostly to business drivers, so mileages are higher and condition varies. Whichever you look at, read the MOT advisories for suspension, brake and tyre wear, then set the keeper count and mileage steps against what the advert claims.

When to run an Infiniti history check.
Check before you make an offer. Infinitis are advertised as premium cars at ordinary prices, and the report tells you whether the low figure reflects the badge or something in the car's record. Finance and write-off results are the two that change the decision.

Does Infiniti leaving Europe affect servicing and parts?
It changes where you go. There is no UK Infiniti dealer network any more, so work moves to independents and Nissan specialists. Many mechanical parts on the Q30 and QX30 are shared with Mercedes and Nissan, which helps. A history check cannot show parts supply, but it does show whether the car has been off the road.
Is an Infiniti Q30 the same as a Mercedes A-Class?
They share a platform, engines and gearboxes, though the Q30 was built at Sunderland and the bodywork and interior are Infiniti's own.
